Ooty Botanical Gardens lie on the lower inclines of the Doddabetta top, the Government Botanical Garden is an amazing nursery in Udhagamandalam, close to Coimbatore in the province of Tamil Nadu. Spread over a region of 22 hectares, the nursery is separated into a few areas that are managed flawlessly to introduce a charming sight. Guests are welcomed with dumbfounding vivid regular excellence from the second they go through the entryways. For over 160 years, unfamiliar and nearby explorers have visited the lavish green yards of the nursery, appreciating the staggering assortment of roses, plants, and orchids present here. Another feature of the Botanical Garden is the Toda slope, known as the Toda mund, which gives the guests an understanding into the lives and culture of Todas (a clan of the Nilgiris).
The establishment of Ooty Botanical Garden was set down in the year 1848 and was planned to have a terraced landscape. The inclines of the slope lie at a climb of 2500 meters above mean ocean level, because of which the nursery appreciates a calm atmosphere ideal for various plants and bushes to develop. The Botanical nursery in Ooty is home to numerous uncommon types of trees, boss among them being the stopper tree, the just one of its sort in India. The paperbark tree, the monkey puzzle tree and an old fossilized tree assessed to be 20 million years of age balance the other uncommon species. The monkey puzzle tree has been named so on the grounds that even monkeys neglect to climb it. Notwithstanding these, various colorful and indigenous vegetation of plants, bushes, greeneries, trees, natural and bonsai plants are found here also.
